MiMOMax congratulates customer Orion on winning Apex Award.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Orion NZ Limited has been awarded the prestigious Apex Award for 2012 by the Utilities Telecom Council (UTC).

This award recognizes utilities that employed communications networks to benefit the communities they serve. To determine who should receive the award, UTC looks at the impact of the service provided and the difference it makes to the community at large.

Orion, the leading electricity provider in New Zealand, won the Apex Award, based on the resilience of its private mission-critical network after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake impacted New Zealand. Specifically, their hardened MiMOMax IP radios survived the natural disaster allowing personnel to start energy restoration while maintaining communications in the field. This innovative wireless technology was vital to Orion's response and created benefits for the entire community, as it shortened the length of power cuts.

The award ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, Orlando, Florida, USA and Paul Daigneault, CEO, MiMOMax Wireless Limited, received this award on behalf of Orion NZ Limited.
