Great River Energy chooses MiMOMax Wireless as SCADA communications partner

Great River Energy of Maple Grove, Minnesota kicks off 2018 with a large Point-to-Multipoint communications project utilizing MiMOMax Wireless radios to support their extensive SCADA network.

Running a range of critical applications across their network, Great River Energy required a partner who could provide a resilient, scalable solution which would give them visibility of 4,700 miles of transmission line.

"At MiMOMax, we focus on a “work with” approach.  We collaborated closely with Great River Energy to ensure the technology we deliver meets their SCADA requirements, improves reliability and maximizes investment in the 700MHz Upper A Block through superior spectral efficiency," says Paul Reid, GM of North America, MiMOMax Wireless.

With available 700 MHz Upper A block spectrum being both scarce and valuable, the challenge for Great River Energy was to find a partner who could maximize their data throughput while improving reliability in a narrowband channel – the key point of difference offered by the MiMOMax Wireless technology.  Utilizing MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology, offering very low latency and providing a range of specialized antennas, the MiMOMax Wireless solution optimizes data throughput and allows for rapid control and feedback on the state of the network.

Headquartered in New Zealand, MiMOMax Wireless has recently opened an office in Phoenix, Arizona to provide support and sales closer to their North American customer base.
